Licensed to Drive

I am told that the procedure to get your driver's license here in Iloilo takes almost the entire day. You need to filll out several forms, get a drug test, and also have a medical examination. You also need several copies of your forms for each person you visit in your quest for the license. Fortunately there are clinics nearby the Land Transportation Office that can take care of this for you, but you still have to jump through all the right hoops, in the right order. It did not take all day, just most of the morning. I was issued my first Filipino Driver's License today. Actually this is not the official license, just a temporary paper one. The official license I can pick up at the Land Transportation Office six months from now--yes you read right, six months.

First Steps

They say that musical ability can be inherited. While I do not claim to posses a huge amount of musical talent, I hope that what little I do have can be passed down to my children. So we will see as Eric starts taking piano lessons here in Iloilo. He has been at it for a few weeks now. He really enjoys it, and thanks to his Grandpa, he got a nice Yahama keyboard for Christmas.
