Empowering the Next Generation

A big step in becoming a missionary with Go To Nations is the Timothy Internship Program. This is a 10 week boot camp that prepares you for full time missionary service in a foreign country. I call it a missionary factory. Chris and I were directors of this internship in the Philippines, Thailand, and the US.

Recently I traveled to the Philippines to equip and empower Jeff Weimert and Ryan Hull to be the directors of the recently relaunched Timothy Internship Program in Iloilo, Philippines. There are 6 interns, plus 3 kids! This is our calling. We are equippers of equippers, empowering those who will raise up the next generation of missionaries.

This was also a sweet homecoming for me. Iloilo was our home for 10 years.

Christ is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. To this end we strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in us.
Colossians 1:28-29
Passing the baton, Jeff (teaching above) and Ryan are now directing the Timothy Internship Program in the Philippines.
Fun fact, both Jeff and Ryan (teaching above) are our former interns. Jeff, Ryan, Chris and I, we are all products of this internship.
Of course when in Iloilo I had to visit the Sonshine Center! Our entire family ministered here for 10 years. The ministry is growing and thriving under the excellent leadership of Pastor Chris Patricio (preaching above). Now former street kids are the full time ministers. Some of you might recognize the guy holding the guitar; Zac (Kar Kar) grew up in the Sonshine Center ministry and is now pastoring a church!
Band of Brothers, Nomil and Peter and I, forever bonded after a decade of ministry together.
Our little (former) home town is not so little anymore with skyscrapers, way too many malls (and 5 Starbucks!), and LOTS of traffic.
Of course, some things in Iloilo never change.

The First Day of the Rest of Her Life

After seven nights in NICU, Gabriella is finally with us. Today is the first day of the rest of her life. To all who held us so tightly in prayer during this very difficult time, we want to express our extreme gratitude and appreciation. Thank you for standing with us in prayer, seeking God for health and healing for our newest child. Your prayers are powerful and effective, so don't stop. If you happen to be in the Maryland area, please feel free to contact us if you want to come see the newest missionary in the family.
