I am Thirty-eight

In the movie City Slickers the character played by Billy Crystal on his thirty-ninth birthday says, "Have you ever had that feeling that this is the best I'm gonna do, this is the best I'm ever gonna feel . . . and it ain't that great?" Henry David Thoreau writes "the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation." I believe that most men have their mid-life crisis at this age because they lack purpose. By God's grace I feel that I will escape this. Obedience to God's will is my purpose. As long as I keep doing that, then there will be no mid-life or late-life crisis.

The one thing is obedience to God's will.

Well, now I am off to the Harley-Davidson dealership here in Iloilo to buy my birthday gift . . .
